Bhutanese Association in South Australia (BASA) in cooperation with Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) organized information session on citizenship for Bhutanese community members.

Sofia Basic and Marg Calvert, two officials from DIAC in Canberra, facilitated the information session attended by over five dozen Bhutanese community members at Twelve25 Youth Center in Salisbury on 15 November.

The participants took keen interest on knowing the procedures and criteria to obtain citizenship and benefits of getting the citizenship.

Most Bhutanese started resettling in Australia in early 2008. The first batch of them are eligible to sit for citizenship test by mid next year.
