Free swimming lessons for new arrivals to Australia, administered through the Australian Refugee Association.
The classes will be held on Sunday afternoons: 22 Jan, 5 & 19 Feb and 3,17 and 31 Mar 2012. The classes will be 1 hours 15 minutes long.

Pool entry fee is not included in free classes offer. Adults have to pay $6 each as entry fee. Fee for child/concession/spectator is $4.90 and family ticket is $17.00 (up to 5 people).

Condition of entry to the pool:
Children under 8 must be supervised by a responsible adult. These lessons will be held at the Marion Outdoor swimming centre, Corner Oaklands Rd and Hendrie Sts, ParkHolme.

To enrol:
Phone the Australian Refugee Association on 83542951 to register for this program. New arrival participants will need to bring their visa to their first swimming lesson. This program has been initiated and provided with the support of the Friends of Marion Outdoor Pool.

    hope your all going well with free swim lessons, its so importent to be able to swim in australia s beautiful but harsh climate, our many beaches , have hidden dangers , one of the most dangerous is rips, were u can be pulled out to sea , by the waves , its importent to be able to learn to swim and float if u get caught in one.

    also fast flowing rivers , have hidden dangers like tree branches , hidden under murky waters, and fast flowing waters can pull u under.

    dams can also be dangerous if u dont know how dep they are .
